The Cottage
Every detail at Whare Manu has been thoughtfully chosen to help you relax and feel at home.
The cottage features luxurious side-by-side outdoor baths on the deck and a spacious tiled shower with horizontal body jets. Beautiful works by local award-winning artists are displayed throughout the cottage, celebrating the creativity of Southland.
Enjoy your morning coffee from the fully equipped Nespresso machine before heading out to explore—or simply stay exactly where you are.
The spacious multi-level deck captures the north, east and west sun, making it the perfect place for breakfast, an afternoon platter or an evening drink as the sun filters through the native trees.
Cooking is easy with an air fryer, inverter oven/microwave, twin ceramic hob and gas BBQ. The kitchen is well equipped with all the little extras—from a cheese plane to a garlic crusher—because we believe it’s the thoughtful details that make a stay memorable.
Extra towels, linen, pillows and blankets are provided, so simply bring your food, drinks and personal toiletries—we’ve taken care of the rest.
Although Whare Manu feels wonderfully secluded, everything you need is within easy reach:
Bluff – 15 minutes
Invercargill – 25 minutes
But don’t rush away.
Omaui isn’t simply somewhere to stay—it’s a destination in its own right. Spend a few days exploring hidden beaches, watching native birdlife, enjoying quiet coastal walks, discovering Bluff and Southland’s spectacular scenery, then return each evening to your own private sanctuary.
The longer you stay, the more you’ll discover why Omaui is one of Southland’s best-kept secrets.
